The program will be undertaken in close collaboration with the University of Greater Manchester’s National Centre for Motorsport Engineering, and Global Media Properties.

Close ties with academia will ensure the work benefits from peer-review and is of the highest quality. A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (via Innovate UK) will be developed to further cement this.

The program will help the BTCC to measure and reduce its environmental impact, improve its social responsibility, and engage with stakeholders on sustainability issues, underlining the BTCC’s position at the forefront of national motorsport innovation and industry-leading standards.

Grade will work with the BTCC to further enhance its existing comprehensive sustainability strategy, set targets, and implement a monitoring and reporting system. This work will encompass a thorough measurement of impact generated by the teams, cars, circuits and the broader fanbase to help the championship reach its sustainability ambitions. The BTCC has already made a ground-breaking move to 100% sustainable fuel in 2025, following a three-year hybrid period.

“We are delighted to be working with Grade on this important initiative,” said Alan Gow, BTCC Chief Executive. “Sustainability is a key priority for the BTCC, and we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and improving our social responsibility. We want to do this patiently and accurately to move our industry forward.”

“Grade has a proven track record in helping organisations engage with diverse stakeholders through technology, and ensure their work has real impact,” said Matt Bachle, Grade CEO and Founder. ”We are confident that we can work with the BTCC to further enhance its comprehensive sustainability strategy and create market-leading technology to engage stakeholders, with broader applications across the motorsport industry.”
