Becoming a Certified B Corporation has been a long journey, one that has challenged and inspired us in equal measure. For any business, committing to the rigorous B Corp process was a big step, but it was one we felt was essential to make. This milestone is not just a badge; it’s a reflection of who we are, how we work, and the values that have driven Grade since day one.

When I founded Grade in 2012, it was with a simple mission: to do digital better. Working from a fold-out table in a cupboard, I was driven by a desire to create quality over quantity, while also crafting a life that allowed me to be present with my young family. There were no grand ambitions in those early days - just a belief that meaningful work, done well, could make a difference.

Fast forward to today, and that belief still guides us. We’ve grown into a team of incredible makers, building digital products that foster positive impact. Whether it's for big brands, not-for-profit organisations, government, corporates or founders, we apply our expertise with an irreverent spirit, crafting products that are as purposeful as they are functional. But growth has also brought responsibility, and with it, a need to reflect deeply on how we can use our success to contribute to a better world.

The B Corp certification process was daunting at times, a years-long journey requiring us to deeply examine every aspect of our business. It tested our resolve, stretched our thinking, and, ultimately, made us stronger. I want to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of the Grade team in making this happen, particularly Justine Marino, who led the charge with tireless commitment, and Kristy Dare, whose expert counsel was instrumental throughout the process. To every single person at Grade: thank you. Your dedication and belief in what we’re building together made this possible.

For us, becoming a B Corp is about accountability. It’s a way of showing our clients, partners, and ourselves that we’re serious about the commitments we make. Whether it’s crafting user friendly products, building sustainable practices, or prioritising ethical partnerships, this certification holds us to the highest standards and ensures we remain aligned with our purpose.

But it’s also about impact. At Grade, we’ve always believed in doing work that matters, work that enriches not only our clients but the communities and environments they serve. Becoming a B Corp reinforces that belief, giving us a transparent framework to measure our progress and drive meaningful change together.

This achievement is just the beginning. We’re proud to join a global community of businesses proving that you can balance purpose with profit. And we’re excited to continue this journey with all of you - our clients, partners, and friends - who share our vision for a better way of doing business.

Here’s to the next chapter of doing digital better, together.
